What a Warehouse Solves

A warehouse centralizes stock so multiple businesses or a factory network do not require repeated manual supplier trips. It becomes useful when distribution work is already recurring.

  • Central stock
  • Import receiving
  • Vehicle storage
  • Delivery routes
  • Store and factory distribution

Confirmed Logistics Features

Official updates added specific warehouse capabilities.

  • EA 0.6: purchasable Delivery Truck
  • EA 0.6: indoor delivery spots
  • EA 0.10: General US Trucks can deliver logistics vehicles directly to a warehouse
  • Exact capacities and costs require a 1.0 check

Setup Order

Build the physical and staffing chain before creating route targets.

  • Lease or buy a warehouse
  • Install pallet or storage capacity
  • Ensure a receiving point is accessible
  • Acquire and assign a suitable vehicle
  • Assign driver and Logistics Manager
  • Create destinations and target stock
  • Wait for the scheduled delivery cycle

How Target Stock Works

Historical official patch tips state that a Logistics Manager delivers up to the target amount and counts items already in store storage and display cases. They also state deliveries occur once per day at midnight. Verify both behaviors in the current 1.0 interface before treating them as fixed.

  • Target is not always the shipment amount
  • Existing destination stock counts toward the target
  • Insufficient destination shelf space can reduce delivery
  • Historical delivery time: midnight

No-Delivery Checklist

Check the route from source inventory to destination capacity in order.

  • Product exists in warehouse stock
  • Product sits on compatible storage
  • Vehicle and driver are assigned
  • Logistics Manager is assigned
  • Destination is included in the route
  • Target exceeds current destination stock
  • Destination has free shelf/display capacity
  • A delivery cycle has passed

When Not to Build One

One small store that is easy to restock manually may not justify warehouse rent, racks, vehicles, drivers and management salaries. Add logistics when it replaces repeated work across several destinations.
